Adidas Ecological Collection

Adidas is one of my favourite sports labels. Even if I don't own a lot of clothes from them. But that could change in the future, because they engaged themselves to Greanpeace to stop using dangerous chemicals, while fabricating their clothes, till the year 2020. That's why they launched their new eco collection in classical Adidas style. You will be able to buy track suits and t shirts made of 100% organic cotton and recycled polyester via OTTO.
Steffi Graf is the face of the campaign, as you can see in the promotion video (it's in German).

Feels Like Jurgen Habermaaster

This is the video of topshop's trend pieces of spring/summer 2011. It was shot by Tyrone Lebon and styled by Beth Fenton.
I just show it to you, because the video kind of freaked me out and reminds me of experimental directors, which are parodied in this small video (which I love by the way) from the mighty boosh:

Super Mario Meets Fashion: Parsival Cserer Autumn/Winter 2011

The last years winner of the award "Designer for Tomorrow" (exclaimed by "Peek und Cloppenburg") Parsival Cserer had his first own fashion show during Berlin Fashion Week.
If you believe the site modabot.de, his collection for Autumn/Winter 2011 was inspired by video games of the 80s, such as Space Invader. That's why the introduction song to the show was the theme of "Super Mario". Isn't this great?
The idea got me totally and the clothes are also interesting, beautiful and wearable. There were colourful knit dresses with low-cut backlines, jumpers and jackets. I can't wait to see it in real life, but now I let you decide by yourself.

Fashion, Ecology, Sustainability: Humanity in Fashion Award

Last year hessnatur put the Humanity in Fashion Award to tender. They want to support up-and-coming designers and to sustain the aliance of fashion design with ecological and humane production conditions. The winner is promised to get a contract about the realisation of a collection for hessnatur and will get a support amount of 25.000 Euros.
During the Berlin Fashion Week they announced the three finalists, who were Janosch Mallwitz, Julia Knüpfer und Anja Umann. They and their collections are presented in the following video in German.

The winner was and still is Janosch Mallwitz (26) from Berlin. He just finished university and took part because he likes the idea of sustainability in fashion. While establishing his label "LAST", he wants to produce enhanced under fair production conditions and with ecological fabric.
His collection is called "graduation", it's about youth culture and the point where one chapter is closing and the next starts to open. There are a lot of references to pop culture and american high school, as you can see in the use of the sport numbers or the shoes, which are inspired by Grunge. He says that it ranges between smooth and edgy, but also between optimism and pessimism.

The collection seems to be of good quality and interesting textures. The zipping details are awaking the feeling of transition, which is enhanced by layering.
In my opinion he and his work really deserve to get the price, just next time, he could use more colour.
He doesn't seem to have a website, but you can find all pictures of the collection on runway passport and pictures of an installation, which was part of the competition in the palazzo italiano, on the hessnatur blog. There you can also find the two other installations.

Mango's Not Orange But Brown

As I first went to Mango to have a look at their AW10/11 collection, I didn't really like it. Seeing this video with Hanneli Mustaparta and Gala Gonzalez totally changed my mind.
Brown is still a delicate colour for me, because I think I can't handle it, but in this collection it's been chosen greatly. Besides I can't stop thinking about the sunglasses.
Who is going to Mango today?

ADAM & EVE Golden Leave

Recently I have some time, as a result from this I started going through a lot of my old magazines and cut out inspirational pictures, interesting artists/designers and fun things.
One of the interesting artists/designers is the Swiss fashion designer Aleksandra Wisniewska. She transforms skeletons of real, botanical leaves into jewelry. Firstly, she dries the leave and dissects it as there is just the outline left over. Then she coats them with noble metals to make them durable for eternity.
Actually, she never had the intention to create her own jewelry line. Wilst doing some research for her second last winter collection, which was inspired by different leave shapes, she came across the technique of how to dissect leaves and was fascinated immediately.
You can buy her pieces online via her website A&E jewelry and on Styleserver.
There are also some shops in Switzerland and Europe, where you can find her collection. One is in 10435 Berlin in the Oderberger Stasse 49 and from Styleserver.
I will go and have a look at the shop, because I love leaves and golden jewelry. It's a divine combination.

FRANZIUS - Ragtag 2010 by Stephanie Franzius

First thing you should do is watching the video to be in the right mood for the collection "Ragtag 2010".

I don't know why the video is affecting me so much, maybe it's my desire of having summer again and being reminded of Israel. But the one thing I know is, the video is so beautiful, playful and natural. It just gives me a good feeling and this is what fashion should give you, too.
So eventhough there is already another collection called "Shaded 2010/2011", I wanted to show you the previous one, because my mind is still living in summer.

Stephanie Franzius studied fashion design at the FHTW and after a Master she sat in on the Fashion Institute Arnhem in Amsterdam at Viktor & Rolf. This experience has led her to launch her own label FRANZIUS in 2004.
Stephanie Franzius likes to engulf herself in her own world, to pursue ideas and feelings and as a result to create fashion, which isn't interested in non-durable trends, but still manages to be everything else than being unworldly. Between all this complexity and conceptionality she keeps her fashion suitable for the streets.

You can find the whole collection here and the website of Stephanie Franzius here.

You can also find her in Berlin:

H&M x Lanvin=?

This is my choice from the H&M with Lanvin collaboration. You can find the press pictures here.
I don't know, If I would buy something though because (as always) I have to wait to see the quality. Hopefully Jessy from Lesmads can solve this problem, because she is taking a look at the collection today at the H&M showroom in Hamburg. I am excited.
If the quality is worth the money, I want to have the red tulle dress and the blue shoes for Cain.

Arcade Girlies

If you are German there is one person you should know: Joscha Sauer. My love with him and his one picture comic jokes called "Nichtlustig"(Notfunny) started I was around 13 and visiting his exhibition in the Kulturbrauerei. Since then I love the small creatures he created and the (not) funny stories around them.
These days he got invited to the Gamescom in cologne (the biggest computergamefair in europe) doing some secret stuff. Because of this he created the "Nichtlustig"-Arcade-Shirt-Collection. It's a small tribute to the classic 8-bit games and I love it. If I wouldn't be in Israel right now, I would buy them all!

Here you can find the girlie shirts and here the boy shirts. Besides he has a blog too!
By the way the yeti one is my favourite, because I love Pacman!

Was meint ihr???

Not Just Another Resortcollection

Do you remember the Miu Miu SS10 collection?
The one everyone loved?
The one with the amazing patterns?

So, make yourself ready for the Miu Miu Resortcollection 2011, because it is even better. Or maybe just as good as the SS10? What are your thoughts?
I totally love the patterns and the make up. Besides the clothes still have the 70s vibe, which can't be wrong.

Was sind eure Meinungen?
