The Polka-dotted Skirt

 While cleaning and packing my bags I found some outfit pictures, which I took in W. before I left.

This skirt is my new favourite one. I bought it with my cousin at a fleamarket in Dortmund.

A Place To Swap: Netcycler

Sometimes, while browsing the net, you come across a website and you'll ask yourself: "How come that I didn't hear about it before?" Netcycler is such a site. 

It's a swap and donating service for used things. Basically you put something that you'll not longer need on the site, so someone can find it. Than you can exchange it in person or via mail with something that has been offered to you before or you just give it to the person for free.

To make this process easier Netcycler will find someone for you. You just have to list your own proposals and wishes. To increase the possibilty for a succesful exchange Netcycler will form exchange rings with three or more persons, to make sure that in the end every one is giving and receiving something. You can also use the dispatch service from Netcycler to ship your stuff.

Sounds like a good alternative to the consumption orientated lifestyle. I think it is both ecological, sustainable and money saving. 

As chance would have it on the 11th of February the first live Netcycler "Tauschmob" will take place in Wuppertal from 2 pm to 5 pm on the Kirchplatz.

Like A Swedish Doll

After three hours of trying to upload something, then sending it to a friend in canada, who uploaded it. I am still not sure if it worked. Maybe I will see it tomorrow. If not I need to cry, because I invested some time for taking the pictures and editing them. 

This dress is also from the pile of clothes I bought second hand. I feel like a swedish doll, when I wear it.

Nothing. So here is mine:

This is what I bought at WIZO. It's an organisation for women's rights and they have a small place with secondhand clothes, books and hmm... things. They also have a soup kitchen. Everything costs from 50 cents to 3 € it's pretty amazing!

Nichts! Deshalb kommt er hier auch.

Ich hab die Sachen bei WIZO gekauft. Eine Organisation für Frauenrechte und -hilfe. Sie haben ein Haus mit Secondhandklamotten, -büchern und ... äh -dingen. Außerdem gibt es noch eine Suppenküche. Alle Klamotten kosten von 50 Cent bis 3 €, was ziemlich toll ist! Das beste ist aber, es ist für einen guten Zweck.

On the first look it seemed to be just another nice vintage outfit...

But that oversized blazer is a great contrast and makes the outfit very special for me!

Zuerst sieht dieses Foto aus wie ein nettes Vintageoutfit...

Naeher betrachtet bringt der uebergrosse Blazer (oder Cardigan oder Pullover) einen tollen Kontrast und macht das Outfit erst wirklich aussergewoehnlich fuer mich!

Some people are moving here at the moving and going through their closets. All the good stuff from "The Boutique" ended up in my hands!

What are you saying about the white jumper? It's from YSL, but it doesn't fit me really I think...

I am wearing a lot of things from "The Boutique". The red headband from the second picture is selfmade and the brown skirt from the last picture from "WIZO". I wore the last outfit today with midnight blue tights and a long grey cardigan from Zara.

Ein paar Leute sind gerade am Umziehen und sortieren deshalb ihre Klamotten aus. Das landet dann alles in der Boutique und da ich dort arbeite, fallen mir die guten Sachen sofort in die Hände!

Was sagt ihr über den weißen Pullover? Er ist von YSL, aber ich glaube er passt mir einfach nicht richtig...

Weekend is over...

The weekend is going to end and my exhausting days as a student will start again. pfh... But whatever.^^

Not long ago, I went with my boyf and my brother to a secondhandshop called "Garage". It's one undergroundstation away from Kurfürstendamm in the Ahornstraße 2, 10787 Berlin. The "Garage" is probably Berlin's biggest second-hand shop, with an enormous selection of jeans, evening dresses, shoes, shirts, blouses, skirts and hats, etc. The unique thing about this shop is that the clothes are priced according to weight (13€/kg). But they also have an fixed price section. I was very excited about going there, because I wanted to do it for a while, but hadn't the time to do it.
In my opinion the store is very cool equipped and porated. The atmosphere is nice and there are really a LOT of clothes. I found two things: a skirt and a top in white with lace at the seam. The top is really beautiful, but I'm not so sure about the skirt anymore.
While I was browsing through the women section, the boyf and my brother were looking after the ugliest clothes to play dress up with them. They ended up trying on fur coats for women. It was really funny!
All in all you can say that there are many clothes at low prices, but mainly for people with special and extraordinary taste, who are (as my boyf would call them) a bit crazy in a nice way and (for me) dressing very individually.
