Adi Dassler: ADIDAS

After the First World War, the sports-obsessed German Adi Dassler started designing tracks shoes out of 'found' materials. While making them he followed three basic rules: He wanted to produce shoes, which meets optimally the requirements of sport, the athlete should be protected from injuries and the product should be really sustainable.
Come the mid-'20s he was sticking spikes through the soles of his shoes to improve grip and by 1948 Dassler had come up with the idea of splicing his first name and surname together forming the brand name known today: ADIDAS.
In 1949 Adidas registered their distinctive triple-striped logo, and when the Adidas-wearing German team smashed their winning goal to the back of Hungary's net in the 1954 World Cup final, the brand's legend was secured.
For a while the brand's profile was lowered, until being resurrected by music fans in the early '80s who imitated the dress of their pop idols "The Stone Roses" and "The Happy Mondays".
"The Gazelle" became an object of lust when Madonna lounged on a chaise lounge in this video, prompting Camden Market to start a bidding war on the then rare product.
Today Michael Michalsky is global creative director of Adidas.

The Same Old Expression

So this is the picture I meant in my previously post. Her expression feels so familiar to me, because it reminds me of her expression in the Harry Potter movies. What do you think?

Emma Watson:New Styleicon?

As you all may know Karl Lagerfeld declared Emma Watson to be his muse and made her the face of Chanel.
These days you can see her in the Burberry winter 09/10s campaign. I came across it in Vogue Deutsch September. I wanted to show you one campaign picture in particular, because her expression reminds me of the expressions she has in the movies and film posters, but I can't find it on the Internet. So I will take a picture of it and show it to you.
I don't know why Burberry picked her to be the new face of the campaign, I think she looks too young, too self conscious and doesn't go with the male models.
But maybe it feels wrong because she is famous. I don't like it, when celebrities work as a model, because you just look at the person and not the clothes anymore. Models should give clothes the space to develop their beauty or uniqueness not the other way round.
Nevertheless here are some of the pictures:

White Blouse/Chemise

I am looking for a white blouse/chemise at the moment. I want one that fits perfectly in normal length and one which could be also worn as a dress.

So I was pleasantly surprised as I flipped through one of the H&M campaigns:

Somebody Told Me

Today I got my new camera: Canon EOS 1000D.
YAY!

AND today's my father's birthday. Happy Birthday, Papa!

My brother took the pictures of my outfit using the automatic settings. I think with manual settings the photos would look even better. Furthermore I forgot to use the right picture size, so they will look a little bit blurry.

What I wore was an oversize black and white striped men tee from H&M, a blue skinny jeans from Tally Wejl and my owl chain.
Later today we went out for some restaurant, so I paired my outfit with high heels, a white blazer and a red bag everything from H&M.
